ANTIDOTE #21 BY MANTAS T

Mantas T delivers an eclectic vinyl-based DJ set for Antidote in Vilnius, Lithuania. The set was recorded live at an industrial beast called Vilnius Heat Plant No. 2, operated by “Vilniaus Šilumos Tinklai”. Big thanks to “Vilniaus Šilumos Tinklai” for believing in Antidote ideas and powering the episode – literally and figuratively. Vilnius Heat Plant-2 is one of the first industrial objects of post-war Vilnius, purposefully erected outside the city centre, around which a whole district of industrial buildings was later formed. The façade of the iconic central building is decorated with bricks from the original Palemonas ceramics factory, marked with an authentication mark.

VEIVERIS / DRUMSTIS EP / OUT SOON

.

Veiveris, musically being an odd one out, is an embodiment for outlandish sounds and textures. Ever-searching for peculiarities in club context has accumulated into the status quo of his creative journey which is the debut “Drumstis” EP. With its quite contemporary attitude towards sound it makes a perfect fit for the Partyzanai Plius assortment appending with distinctive rhythms and atypical sounds. Based in Vilnius, Veiveris has built up a grasp of Lithuania’s club scene outskirts and particularities and paves the way for himself by contributing music for the outsiders in Lithuania and around the globe.

“Drumstis” EP is a set of inner emotions expressed through human-like timbre synth sounds. As if the sounds would be direct expressions of human emotion, Veivers uses them to confront his subconscious and rally against the outside world, spreading unease and wit. Throughout the EP’s gloomy atmosphere, a sense of unusualness and discomfort accompanied with thunderous ambiences makes unfamiliarity a usual standard. By design broken kick drums integrate the perfect amount of chaos with wrecked order. Rationalities wither, uncertainty persists.

Zygimantas Dzikevicius aka 5ZYL comes from the urban district Pasilaiciai situated at the northern part of the Lithuanian capital Vilnius. Started musical journey around 2007 and being influenced by old-school rave / breakbeat / hardcore sound – Zygimantas started producing dubstep & jungle tunes and djing at various illegal parties and open-airs including legendary broken rhythm sound festival Satta. In the late 2019`s a new mindset under alias 5ZYL was born and it didn’t take long to be noticed by Jensen Interceptor and by local talent HUNTers – PPP Records – where the debut “Smoke These” EP found its shape. The EP appears on digital and MC format on PPP Records includng Ement remix and launches on the 6th of July at the event Minimal Mondays: PPP label release launch in Vasaros Terasa in Vilnius. Big thanks to Tadas Karpavicius for the graphic design and Pranza (audiomastering.lt) for making it sound good.
